Strategic Workshop to Develop a Science and Technology Profession for Policing

news

The Office of the Police Chief Scientific Adviser are developing an S&T Profession in Policing through a partnership with academia, and industry to inspire the current and future generations in S&T policing careers.

The Network for Security, Excellence and Collaboration (NSEC) and the Office of the Police CSA are sponsoring the workshop to identify how academia might help the police develop this profession. It will be the first in a series to help develop ideas, challenges and new concepts in delivering an S&T Profession, and how academia may contribute to this activity. This workshop will offer an opportunity to influence how this might be achieved from its very beginning.

Professor Paul Taylor, the National Police Chief Scientific Adviser will deliver the opening keynote supported by other senior individuals from across National Policing.

We would welcome participation from senior academics who have already engaged in Policing S&T and from other academic disciplines who haven't engaged with Policing S&T yet.

Where: Mitchell Hall, Cranfield University, Bedfordshire, MK43

When: 1000-1600, Wednesday 9th October 2024

The event is free to attend and refreshments will be provided. To join us please register online by CoP 1st September.
