The NABS+ Commissioning Call is now open! The call supports small-scale projects addressing emerging challenges such as AI, online harms, and information manipulation.

The Centre for Research and Evidence on Security Threats is inviting applications for innovative, small-scale research projects that address urgent and emerging challenges facing the UK. Whether you're interested in the impacts of AI on the workforce, the future of human–AI collaboration, online harms targeting minors, or the complex dynamics of disinformation and information manipulation, this commissioning call offers a chance to make a meaningful impact.

Call topics

Applicants are invited to submit proposals for projects on the following topics:

  • The effects of autonomous decision-making systems on the workforce
  • Human-AI Teaming in National Security
  • Mapping the ecosystem of violent online networks promoting harm to minors
  • Engagement and disengagement with violent online networks
  • A ‘richer picture’ of information manipulation threats
  • Prioritising information manipulation and interference threats
  • Interactions between digital information threats and countermeasures

The deadline for submissions is 17:00 on the 8th September 2025.
