University Innovation Concept 2024 Challenge Statements (UIC) AI and Technical Research
The Counter Terrorism Research Lab (CTRL) has launched the University Innovation Concept (UIC) 2024.
The UIC is a program lead by CTRL and Accelerated Capability Environment in an effort to reduce the gap between academic research and operational practice. The role of CTRL in the UIC is to engage with frontline Counter Terrorism practitioners to understand their operational challenges, before commissioning universities to undertake academic research. This research can support understanding, drive decision making or create opportunities to deliver operational change in support of service delivery.
This year CTRL have worked closely with colleagues across Counter Terrorism to generate a number of challenge statements across a range of thematics including;
- Radicalisation
- Interventions
- Mapping and Resolving Human Networks
- AI and Accountability
- Spatial Decision Making
- The use of Sporting or Hunting Equipment as Weapons
Applicants can also submit a proposal under the 'wildcard' category for areas you think CTRL should be exploring.
Please see the attached expression of interest for full details of the themes, together with information relating to the upcoming clarification call on the 4th October and deadlines for submissions.
